The Easy E Chords

This is one of the easiest chords to learn and play. It was my first chord that I learned on the acoustic guitar. Most people can play the E or E Minor chord right off the bat.

The E chords are in so many songs you hear everyday on the radio. Its an easy transition chord as well.

Below is the tab on how to play the E major and E minor chords on the guitar. It shows you where to put your fingers so there is no misunderstanding.

Below are the tabs along with a video that may help.

This song is played a half a step  down, so you can not play it with the song unless you do so.

Same chords just a half a step down.

I have also included a video on tuning your guitar a half a step down as well as the video of the song played by Stained….Enjoy

How to play ..The Best Of My Love  ..  by   The Eagles

This is not a hard song for a beginner, but will take some extra practice.

I wanted to do a few songs by The Eagles this week because of Glenn Freys passing.

Glenn-Frey-the-eagles-1970-billboard-650

I have only done one song by The Eagles in the past year called Take It Easy and wanted to do a few more.   I did not know how to play these songs before I looked them up ,but it was only a few days of playing them off and on before I made these videos.

Once you start learning the acoustic guitar you will find how things seem to fall into place a lot easier when you have your basics down.     says  Kevin Shelton

Below I have the tabs of The Eagles playing it live ,so you can play along with it.   I also have a video of me playing as well that will be out on Friday   ENJOY

Em Dm Em F/G

     C Dm C G7
I know you were trying to give me the best of your love

   C C Dm Dm

   C C Dm Dm

My video may be slightly different but you have all you need to get it right.

You will find that there is a few
ways to play this song, but this is the best way to learn as a beginner.    Remember to stick with it until your done learning a song.

Only learning some of it leaves you behind the others.

Bad practice habits

Bad practice habits  will get you nowhere fast while learning the acoustic guitar.

1st evaluate what you’re wanting out of the guitar then go from there.

Here are some bad habits to stay away from

  1.  Playing once a week or once a month.
  2.  Trying to learn to much in the beginning.
  3. Trying to learn a song before you have the basics down.
  4.  Not focusing on the long-term goal.
  5.  Holding the Acoustic the wrong way

Not having fun is the number one killer in this learning process ,so develop good learning habits in the beginning and have better results in the end.

More Motivation Please

What can I say about needing motivation. It’s something everyone struggles with no matter what your strategy , some days are better than others.

Mine is to put on a great album I like or music videos  and just listen to it or watch it for a while.

Most of the time it moves me enough to want to play one of the songs or just gets my musical brain running.

Below are a few things you can try

  1. Buy yourself a great acoustic guitar.  If you go out and get yourself a great acoustic guitar it will put you right where you need to be in the motivation department.
  2. Buy a new set of strings or some new picks.
  3. Cleaning my guitar always makes me want to play it once I’m completely done.

quote-Billie-Joe-Armstrong-i-approach-playing-acoustic-guitar-more-of-61418

Get a guitar buddy that is further along in the learning process.  This keeps me in gear to keep up or catch up with he or she.

Sitting down with someone who can play is inspiring in so many ways.  It’s like that subliminal push you need to keep moving.

If it’s motivation you’re looking for try those things to get you rolling.
