Remember this…Jimmy page and the black crowes

On October 1999, Page teamed up with The Black Crowes for a two-night performance of material from the Led Zeppelins bluesy stuff mixed with some Crowes. Chris Robinson and company mixed with one of the greatest guitar players of all time makes for a great live album. If you haven’t heard this album this is your chance.

The Easy E Chords

This is one of the easiest chords to learn and play. It was my first chord that I learned on the acoustic guitar. Most people can play the E or E Minor chord right off the bat.

        The E chords are in so many songs you hear everyday on the radio. Its an easy transition chord as well.

The Converse Wha Pedal

So this was prototyped a few years back around 2013. Converse has taken target audience to a new level.  It doesn’t matter if your playing with an acoustic electric or an electric.

They have taken the famous converse shoe of all time ,the Chuck Taylor and put a Wha pedal in the sole of the shoe.  This iconic shoe is worn by so many famous singer songwriters in the business not to mention all of you out there that put them on.

I have mixed feeling on this product. My negative thinking goes to a guitar player forgetting he or she is one with the equipment and set the guitar down and take of for a stage dive or is just feeling the music and want to move around, You can’t. If you forget your going to be dragging your D-28 across the stage with you with bad results.

 I would love to try out.  If I get my hands on a pair, I’m gong to do a video review on what I think.  But…this is a wonderful idea for all of us on the go.  You have a wha pedal with you as long as you are wearing the shoes. Also want to know if it makes the shoe less comfortable.

Remember This…

“I don’t mind stealing bread”
The verse most of us know from the song Hunger Strike by the combined bands of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.

The time was April 16,1991  Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder we’re taking their bands to new highs ,and making this album was a bonus for all the Soundgarden and Pearl Jam fans. They were no strangers to one another both being vocalists in the band Mother Love Bone

During this time the Seattle scene was hot with bands like Soundgarden ,Pearl Jam and Nirvana all making a come up.This album was icing on the cake for A&M records,with hit songs like Hunger Strike and Say Hello 2 Heaven.temple-of-the-dog-4fd30d7435541

Recorded at the London Bridge Studio in Seattle Washington in only 15 days they say. If you’re in your mid 30’s this band will bring you back. Both bands combined for this album was a great move and will go down as one of the bast albums of its time. Sometimes you might catch Cris Cornell singing one of the songs from that album on his Acoustic tour.

Okie from Muskogee

Merle Haggard passed away a few weeks back on his 79th birthday. As a county music legend he set the bar for what county music use to be and everything that was good about it.

Oakie From Muskogee - Merle Haggard
===================================

E
We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee;
                              B7
We don't take our trips on LSD
B7
We don't burn our draft cards down on Main Street;
                                 E
We like livin' right, and bein' free.

E
I'm proud to be an Oakie from Muskogee,
                                          B7
A place where even squares can have a ball ----
B7
We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse,
                                                E
And white lightin's still the biggest thril of all

We don't make a party out of lovin';
We like holdin' hands and pitchin' woo;
We don't let our hair grow long and shaggy,
Like the hippies out in San Francisco do.

And I'm proud to be an Oakie from Muskogee,
A place where even squares can have a ball.
We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse,
And white lightin's still the biggest thril of all.

Leather boots are still in style for mainly footwear;
Beads and roman sandals won't be seen.
Football's still the roughest thing on campus,
And the kids here still respect the college dean.

We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse,
In Muskogee, Oklahoma, USA.

Eric Clapton’s New Album

Eric Clapton has reunited with famed producer Glyn Johns for his forthcoming 23rd studio album called  I Still Do, set for release on May 20, 2016 on his Bushbranch Records(Surfdog Records). Clapton and Johns – who has also produced albums for The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and The Who  – most famously worked together on one of Clapton’s best albums, Slowhand , which is RIAA-certified 3x-platinum and topped charts globally.Eric_Clapton_Lester-Cohen

The album also contains “I Will Be There,” a song of unknown vintage, which features vocals and acoustic guitar by one Angelo Mysterioso (a musical nom de plume used in previous decades by the late George Harrison). The former Beatle and Clapton were close friends who were married, in succession, to the same woman, Patti Boyd. Clapton first used his Mysterioso alias on the 1969 Cream album, “Goodbye.” says George Varga of The San Diego Times

The 12-track record includes some original songs written by Clapton.

  1. Alabama Woman Blues

  2. Can’t Let You Do It

  3. I Will Be There

  4. Spiral

  5. Catch The Blues

  6. Cypress Grove

  7. Little Man, You’ve Had a Busy Day

  8. Stones In My Passway

  9. I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine

  10. I’ll Be Alright

  11. Somebody’s Knockin’

  12. I’ll Be Seeing You

This album is on the coat tails of his last release, the 2014 chart-topping

Eric Clapton & Friends: The Breeze, An Appreciation of the late JJ Cale.

I Still Do is the name of the new album, look for it May 20th 2016
