Remember this…Jimmy page and the black crowes

On October 1999, Page teamed up with The Black Crowes for a two-night performance of material from the Led Zeppelins bluesy stuff mixed with some Crowes. Chris Robinson and company mixed with one of the greatest guitar players of all time makes for a great live album. If you haven’t heard this album this is your chance.

The Easy E Chords

This is one of the easiest chords to learn and play. It was my first chord that I learned on the acoustic guitar. Most people can play the E or E Minor chord right off the bat.

        The E chords are in so many songs you hear everyday on the radio. Its an easy transition chord as well.

The Converse Wha Pedal

So this was prototyped a few years back around 2013. Converse has taken target audience to a new level.  It doesn’t matter if your playing with an acoustic electric or an electric.

They have taken the famous converse shoe of all time ,the Chuck Taylor and put a Wha pedal in the sole of the shoe.  This iconic shoe is worn by so many famous singer songwriters in the business not to mention all of you out there that put them on.

I have mixed feeling on this product. My negative thinking goes to a guitar player forgetting he or she is one with the equipment and set the guitar down and take of for a stage dive or is just feeling the music and want to move around, You can’t. If you forget your going to be dragging your D-28 across the stage with you with bad results.

 I would love to try out.  If I get my hands on a pair, I’m gong to do a video review on what I think.  But…this is a wonderful idea for all of us on the go.  You have a wha pedal with you as long as you are wearing the shoes. Also want to know if it makes the shoe less comfortable.

Okie from Muskogee

Merle Haggard passed away a few weeks back on his 79th birthday. As a county music legend he set the bar for what county music use to be and everything that was good about it.

Oakie From Muskogee - Merle Haggard
===================================

E
We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee;
                              B7
We don't take our trips on LSD
B7
We don't burn our draft cards down on Main Street;
                                 E
We like livin' right, and bein' free.

E
I'm proud to be an Oakie from Muskogee,
                                          B7
A place where even squares can have a ball ----
B7
We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse,
                                                E
And white lightin's still the biggest thril of all

We don't make a party out of lovin';
We like holdin' hands and pitchin' woo;
We don't let our hair grow long and shaggy,
Like the hippies out in San Francisco do.

And I'm proud to be an Oakie from Muskogee,
A place where even squares can have a ball.
We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse,
And white lightin's still the biggest thril of all.

Leather boots are still in style for mainly footwear;
Beads and roman sandals won't be seen.
Football's still the roughest thing on campus,
And the kids here still respect the college dean.

We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse,
In Muskogee, Oklahoma, USA.

Learning the E chords

Learning the E chord is one of the easiest chords to learn on the guitar.  It goes great with A,G,D chords ,and is very simple to play the E minor chord as well.

Below is the tab on how to play the E major and E minor chords on the guitar. It shows you where to put your fingers so there is no misunderstanding.

Remember this ….?

It was 1998 and the single Jumper was released from the American Rock Band Third Eye Blind. Although it never reached number one it did make it to number five.

For those of you who are 35 and up may remember this one.  Great song of it time and still great to listen to. It’s Not to hard to play on the acoustic guitar so it makes a great go to song at a party.

I’m putting together a video on how to play this song but in the meantime here’s some food for thought.

Jumper video

Lead singer Stephan Jenkins has said that the song is “about a friend who’s gay, jumping off a bridge and killing themselves.”The song is also about Jenkins’ own difficult, often alienating childhood experiences. He says, “My parents divorced, and that hurt me. We were poor and I went to a rich high school. I was dyslexic and had attention deficit disorder, which I still have. …..
