Remember this…Jimmy page and the black crowes

On October 1999, Page teamed up with The Black Crowes for a two-night performance of material from the Led Zeppelins bluesy stuff mixed with some Crowes. Chris Robinson and company mixed with one of the greatest guitar players of all time makes for a great live album. If you haven’t heard this album this is your chance.

The Converse Wha Pedal

So this was prototyped a few years back around 2013. Converse has taken target audience to a new level.  It doesn’t matter if your playing with an acoustic electric or an electric.

They have taken the famous converse shoe of all time ,the Chuck Taylor and put a Wha pedal in the sole of the shoe.  This iconic shoe is worn by so many famous singer songwriters in the business not to mention all of you out there that put them on.

I have mixed feeling on this product. My negative thinking goes to a guitar player forgetting he or she is one with the equipment and set the guitar down and take of for a stage dive or is just feeling the music and want to move around, You can’t. If you forget your going to be dragging your D-28 across the stage with you with bad results.

I would love to try out.  If I get my hands on a pair, I’m gong to do a video review on what I think.  But…this is a wonderful idea for all of us on the go.  You have a wha pedal with you as long as you are wearing the shoes. Also want to know if it makes the shoe less comfortable.

Using furniture polish on your acoustic guitar

At first I was worried about to wax built up from the polish but after reading further I found out that lemon oil is great for the guitars wood.  I started using Pledge a few years ago along with some lemon oil.

I use the Pledge for the polished parts of the acoustic guitar and the lemon oil on the unfinished parts.  (Bare wood) Dunlap is what I use the most.  It gives to wood or what ever type of material your fretboard is made of a new look to it.

Do not use the lemon oil on the finished wood.  Only use it on unfinished wood like the bridge or the fretboard.

You should only need to use the lemon oil 1 to 2 times a year really not much more than that.

Be smart when you’r changing your strings. Try cleaning your acoustic while you have the strings off that way everything is easy to get to. You can use any furniture polish as long as you check the contents of it.  So many diff types of guitar polish and oils out there it’s all in preference.

If your a beginner acoustic player this is a great album for learning new chords like Em7 along with some not so hard lead parts.

The song is tuned a half a step down ,so if you’re  trying to play along with the song it wont jive.

If you would like to see my how to video on how to play this song leave a comment below.

Fun facts:

The concert wasn’t aired until May of 96 and not realest on CD until July of 96. It made it up to the top 3 songs on the Billboard 200

A full length DVD of the concert was also later released in 1999.This event was one of the final appearances with vocalist Layne Staley

John Lennons D-28

John Lennon was on top of the world and every young musician wanted to be like him and wanted what he had or what the Beatles had.

In 1967,his later years with the Beatles. He started playing a Martin D-28.  And now C.F.Martin has introduced a D-28 with a touch of John Lennon about it.

It has his famous cartoon head on the head of the acoustic that gives it that John Lennon stamp of approval.

And some little things like his round shape  glasses on the fretboard  as well as a few other things.

And the back has a peace sign worked in to replace the standard line down the back as a divider

The pick guard has a sun etched in to it that gives it the final touches.  If your looking to pick one up for your collection your going to have to dig deep, with a price of $12,000 that is outside most of our reach. There will only be 75 of these guitars made in honor of John Lennons Birthday so if you want one you better act fast.
